Our baby is 11 months old!!!

1 more month to be our "baby" and then Evan will be 1 year old!!!! Time has flown by so quickly!!! He is moving faster than ever--or could it be I am moving slower!?!?!?! He crawls everywhere and is gone in the blink of an eye--literally. I turn to look at Cohen and Evan is right beside me. When I turn back---he is GONE!! Usually he is getting into an electrical outlet, pulling the lamp down, or crawling as fast as he can on the hard woods. He will turn and look at you when you say NO NO, then smile, and keep on going! It is really hard not to laugh sometimes!! He is pulling up to stand now and can take a few steps forward to scoot up to whatever he is holding on to! He has not taken any steps yet, but he will let go and balance for about 2 seconds before falling. He does this ALL day! I don't see how his bottom is not one big bruise!!!

He still loves to sleep and fusses if not in bed by about 7:30. It is kind of nice because Cohen goes to bed between 8:30 and 9 so it gives us some "alone" time! I don't read to him as much as I would like and as much as I read to Cohen--poor 2nd baby (what will happen with the 3rd???) but we do get one in every once in a while before he is out!

Evan LOVES to play peek a boo and will play with anything. He will use his hands, his cup, his bottle, a person anything he can find. He will cover his eyes with it and pull it down and just laugh and laugh when you say boo!

His favorite past time is clapping. He claps all the time and loves when you say yeah and clap!! He claps at Cohen's baseball game when the crowd does. Today when I got to Cindy's to pick him up he clapped really loud and smiled and squealed. It was soooo sweet! He was happy to see me!

He likes to self feed and pretty much refuses to eat off the spoon. I have really had to get creative with ways to make sure he is eating a balanced meal with teeny tiny bits he won't choke on. He still does not have teeth!! I cut up tiny pieces of cheese (his favorite), shred apples, cut up bananas, cut up cooked carrots and green beans, tear pieces of bread and rolls, smash up sweet potatoes, and he loves yogurt. I think we are doing ok!!!! I still am not brave enough to try meat. I sneak in bites of baby food meat when he is not paying attention. It usually works until he realized I pulled a fast one on him and he spits it all out right in my face!!! 4 bites in 1 bite out, 4 bites in 1 bite out!! We get the jar down eventually!!! He is definitely a man who knows what he likes and doesn't like! For example.....he LOVES his bottle and HATES a sippy cup. For all those times I judged kids still on a bottle at 2 years old----I think this is my pay back. I have NO idea how I am going to get him off the bottle! So...if he still has it in a year---please don't judge me! I tried--I promise!!!!!

He DOES NOT like having his clothes changed. If you want to see a real comedy show come over after bath time when a fat pregnant woman is trying to put skin tight pj's on a tired baby. We wrestle and roll on the floor and he screams and I try to stay calm and after losing my breath and sometimes my patients, a big battle ensues and the hair goes up into a ponytail and things get serious. After somewhat of a struggle--they are on. I always win. He has never gone to bed naked. Although with the heat of summer coming and my belly getting bigger each day--that might happen soon!!! After he admits defeat, he looks straight at his bottle, grabs it, and is half asleep before he has is sucked down! Whew! Then it is off to dream land...for him...not me!!!!
He is definitely an active, fast, happy baby and I love him more and more each day!!!
Evan loves his big brother!!!!
He loves the swing set too!!!
Evan banging on the ottoman!!!!

Universal Truths...Laws of Mankind
A friend of mine posted these on Facebook and I thought they were too funny (and quite true) not to share.
1. Law of Mechanical Repair- After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch.
2. Law of Gravity- Anything, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.
3. Law of Probability- The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act.
4. Law of Random Numbers- If you dial a wrong number someone always answers.
5. Variation Law- If you change traffic lines, the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now (works every time).
6. Law of the Bath- When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.
7. Law of Close Encounters- The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.
8. Law of the Result- When you try to prove to some that a machine won't work, it will.
9. Law of Biomechanics- The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.
10. Law of Theater- At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last.
11. Murphy's Law of Lockers- If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.
12. Law of Physical Surfaces- The chances of an open-faced sandwich landing face down on a floor covering are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet/rug.
13. Brown's Law of Physical Appearance- If the clothes fit, they're ugly.
14. Wilson's Law of Commercial Marketing Strategy- As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.
15. Doctor's Law- If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor, by the time you get there you'll feel better. Don't make an appointment and you'll stay sick.

Too tired to think so I am off to bed for now! Stay tuned for more "Day funnies!"

Cohen Funnies!

We don't usually let Cohen have waffles for breakfast because the syrup just makes him wild. He wanted waffles yesterday morning and pleaded with Jeremy saying, "if you let me have them I will not be hypa. I will not do bad things and I will be good at nap." Jeremy of course said ok...how could you not. Glad to report----he was very good. He was on "green" at daycare

Cohen said he wanted something to drink. I said, "are you thirsty?" and he replied, "indeed I am." Funny!

Evan was messing with Cohen's nightlight. I heard Cohen go over, sweetly taking care of him as he always does, and tell him, "Don't mess with that. It is not safe. You will get 'esculated'!"

At his first game, Cohen was just standing in the outfield not really trying to get the ball and just looking sad. He soon started acting normal and all was well. After the game, I asked him what was wrong and he said he was tired of watching that other team hit. He wanted to get up to bat and hit a home run like the Braves. Catching is boring he says!!!

Strawberries Anyone??

We went strawberry picking Saturday and had a wonderful time! We were just planning on picking a few, but once there, decided to pick a whole gallon bucket!! We will have strawberries for weeks! They are dark red, juicy, sweet, and delicious. Cohen and I got right into them when we got home!! Evan was very tired and wanted to sleep the whole time we were there, but soon decided to try a nibble of one!!

Our little monkey is 10 months old!!

I can't believe it!! He has changed so much in such a short time! He is now crawling, pulling up, trying to let go, and takes a few steps when we hold his hands. He went from nothing to ALL. OUT. WILD!! He is so fast and stubborn. He insists on being on the floor and if you look away for 1 second he is out of sight. He cracks up when you call his name and find him somewhere that is off limits. He LOVES crawling on the hardwood floors. We don't really let him on them right now because he is still a little unstable!!! He keeps trying and we turn him around the other way and before you know it, he is back again! Man, he is FAST!!! I love it though. He is getting into everything. I had to move our plants and block off the fireplace. He gets put in his pack-n-play, sometimes although he hates it! I mean......I DO have to go potty sometime!!!!

He is sitting up well and is now in the big bathtub. He loves to play with Cohen and still splashes like a mad man! He can get from one side of the tub to the other in the blink of an eye. I have really never seen anyone faster!! His nickname has been monkey up until this point but we might need to change it to an animal that moves much faster!!

He LOVES LOVES LOVES to eat! He will cry if I try to give him baby food and shuts his mouth tight and will not open. He wants what we have. I am SSSOOOOO nervous about it, but I am getting better. So far he has had peaches, pears, and bananas (all cut up very small), mashed potatoes, and toast. I will have to try some new things. I think he is getting tired of the puffs and wants more variety. He might eat us out of house and home!! He still loves his bottle and refuses a sippy cup of any kind. I am not really sure what we are going to do. We keep trying, but he is STUBBORN and refuses to try it. Am I going to have 2 babies on a bottle????????????

He is a talker for sure!! He says dada and mama (although not to us usually-he just babbles). He did say "Hey, Dada" today!! It was really cute. He only did it once and would not do it again. He is a watcher just like Cohen. I will catch him studying what we are doing and then he tries to do it.

By far his favorite time of day is bed time. He is asleep by 7:30. He would prefer 7:00, but sometimes we just can't get there so soon! He is still the best baby ever--although a much faster baby!!!
