Stone Mountain Christmas

We took a day and headed up to Stone Mountain Park to enjoy the Christmas festivities. We watched Polar Express 4D. It was a 3D showing of the movie (a 12 minute version) with shaking seats, falling snow, and squirts of water in our faces!! We really enjoyed the family time away from all the holiday stress of shopping, wrapping, cooking, etc. At the Christmas Village we played in the big barn, watched a parade, rode the train and looked at all the lights. Of course, my favorite thing was Mrs. Katie's Restuarant! They have "free" appetizers of fried pickles and sweet potatoes fries that they refill as many times as you ask. AND.....hand tossed rolls.....no really, they "toss them to you to catch in your hands!!!" The boys LOVED that--throwing rolls in a resturant!!! How fun!!! And those pickles....mmmmm......just thinking of it now makes my mouth water! The best fried pickles I have ever had. We will definitely be making this a family tradition! When the boys are a little older, we will add in Snow Mountain!!!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas. We hope you did too. It was so much fun this year. All the boys were old enough to really enjoy it. Santa had each boy's toys in seperate sections in the living room around the tree. They immediately strayed from their own section of course and headed straight for someone else's. No one seemed to mind though! Here is a little peek into our (crazy fun) morning........

This is the face of the sweetest baby, EVER.....

Cooper has got to be the sweetest, most loving baby in the WORLD! He gives out hugs and kisses all day. They may be a little slobbery, so if you are afraid of drool...stay away. But, if you want some sweet lovin, Coop is the babe to look for! He will look at you with that precious, unique smile and melt your heart. And his eyes....oh his eyes, a perfect shade of brownish green, they will literally penetrate your soul! If you think I am exaggerating, come hang out with him.....you'll see. GOD DEFINITELY made no mistake when he surprised our family with him. He is perfectly perfect! Can you tell I'm in love....all over again!

Sounds like I'm describing a new born, doesn't it. I think I am melting lately because things are not quite as crazy as they used to me and I can really enjoy the moment and get to know him. He's precious I tell you......

Happy Fall Ya'll!

We had a great time at Southern Belle Farm! The boys picked pumpkins, rode on the hayride, shot corn from a cannon, picked cotton, watched the pig races, slid down a HUGE slide, and MUCH MUCH more! We had such a great time and the weather was perfect!

Setting Blog for Private Readers Only

It is beginning to creep me out that strangers can read about our family happenings. So...I am setting the blog to private! If you would like to continue reading our family stories, send me your email address and I'll add you as a private reader! The only thing that will change is that you will have to log in with your email address before you can see the page! There are just so many "weirdo's" out there these days! I will set it to private in a few days!

Cohen is in Kindergarten!

Cohen is growing up too! But we all know that....he's acted like he's 13 for a few years! He loves school, loves his teacher, and is meeting lots of new friends.

Our baby is ONE!

We celebrated Coop's 1st birthday this weekend! I have been an emotional wreck about it. I had a good time planning his party and celebrating with family and friends, but when I started to actually think about him getting older, moving from “baby” to “toddler”, I became a mess.

An emotional mess.

I started fast-forwarding to a few years down the road when he won’t just come up to me and give me kisses. To the time when I drop him off at school and he shies away from hugging me because he’s too embarrassed. To the time when I won’t be his whole world and he’ll choose playing with his friends more than me. Then driving and him going off to college. Him meeting a girl. Getting married....etc, etc!!!!! I just cry at the drop of a hat when I think about him getting older!

This morning I cried when I left him in the church nursery and cried when they came to get me because he was crying for me!

I’m a mess. M.E.S.S!

I cry because he doesn't need to nurse anymore, I don't have to pack him bottles anymore...He is growing up!

He needs me now and I will cherish his hugs and kisses FOREVER! I want to remember those open mouth slobbery, wet kisses. Those sideways hugs and big bright smile he gives when he sees me. The crooked way he crawls when I get to the babysitter and he is so excited to get into my arms--he just looks at the floor and crawls as fast as he can to get to me! (See I am getting teary now). With the other boys, I wasn't so sad when they turned one. Maybe because I knew there would be babies to follow....Coop is our baby. Our baby FOREVER! I know that I can’t hold on to my baby forever, but he’s just growing up so fast. A lot faster than I ever imagined.

It really makes me so sad on one hand, but on the other, it’s really exciting to see him growing up and exploring so much. He’s such a curious little boy and wants to know about everything and wants to do everything his brothers do.

Sure there are times when I get frustrated or feel like I could sleep for 3 more hours in the morning, but I’m not taking anything for granted. Babies aren’t babies for a long time and I’m so blessed that I was chosen to be Coop’s mom. I love him (and his big brothers)more than anything and in the "rough" moments, I remind myself of this. I’m cherishing the times, good and bad, because I know that they will pass so fast.

Gone within a blink of an eye really.

I love you, Cooper Lawson Day! Happy First Birthday!!!
