Our Mini-Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the Wildnerness Lodge indoor water park in Pigeon Forge this weekend. It was nice to put bathing suits on and get some sun!! It was warm and sunny the whole time....indoors that is. It was windy and 32 degrees outside. After spending 2 days at the water park we went sight seeing and playing in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We had a fantastic time....until the drive home. There was a wreck that happened right in front of us so Jeremy stopped to make sure everyone was ok. Well, about 30 seconds later we heard a loud SCREECH and we were rear ended by an Altima. We only felt a slight bump, but the Altima will probably be totaled and 3 of the 5 people were taken away in an ambulance. Thank God for a big sturdy truck. I will NEVER drive a car again. Our boys were completely unharmed and barely felt a thing. Cohen was only upset that his headphones fell off--he just kept watching his DVD!!! So we were fine, and I hope the other people are ok. They were going TOO TOO fast and not paying attention. The TN trooper said the skid marks were 140 ft!!!!! He said he could have killed someone.
Other than the wreck, we had a BLAST and are planning a trip to go back..maybe this fall!

oh yeah I just remembered someting........

Today, right before bed I was picking up all the toys as I usually do each night. Tonight, I did it before I tucked Cohen in and asked him to pick up the cars he had on the carpet in the living room and put them in his car bucket. As I walked off I heard him whisper to himself, "that's all I do is pick things up. It seems like I do it all the time-picking up, picking up." He picks the cars up, puts them in the bucket, and goes back to being a cowboy swinging his lasso (headphones). I didn't tell him I heard, but I chuckled to myself!!

I thought it was sooooo funny! I wonder if he heard me say that???

I have CABIN. FEVER.

So Jeremy has been working open to close the last 2 days because they have a big visit coming. I have begun to get cabin fever and was planning a big day out tomorrow with the boys...until I watched the news and found out it will be storming tomorrow. UUGGHH! I love the breaks from school, but get bored when I have nothing to do. Jeremy will be off soon and we have lots of fun things planned so stay tuned for pictures!!

Anyway...out of pure boredom, I decided to interview Cohen on some of his favorites. I should have videoed him. It was really funny. A friend of mine does this on each child's birthday and I think I will start that tradition this year. Here are Cohen's answers from today.

G. A. P.

Cohen woke me up this morning because he had wet the bed. He never does that so it took me by surprise at first. He said "I am so sorry mommy. I didn't mean to." I told him it was ok and went to change his clothes and sheets. His sheets were not wet and his pants were only a little. I told him he did not wet that much. He said, "I was dreaming I was on the toilet and tee teed. I felt my pants get all warm and woke up." He then said, "I said uh oh, either I wet my pants or I am sweating." I thought that was funny--dreaming he was on the toilet!!!!

Anyway... I told him to take his pajamas off and put on some new underwear and bottoms. He picked some out and said "hey, these are from G. A. P." I said "yea, that spells GAP." He said "oh yeah I remember that store. They have everything. We went there and they have everything you ever wanted....everything I ever dreamed of."

So I will keep this "everything I ever dreamed of" statement in mind next time I need a gift for him. I will definitely get him something from G. A. P!!!!!

8 months old!!

Evan is 8 months old today and my how time has flown. He is growing and changing so fast. He is the best baby I have ever met. He is so laid back and happy. He goes to sleep at the drop of a dime. He doesn't care if you rock him or lay him down or in the car seat or where ever, he goes right to sleep when you tell him night night. His favorite place to nap is still on mommy and daddy's bed. We put his warm fleece blanket down and give him Pooh and he goes right to sleep. He does still like to have a fleece blanket to sleep on in his crib.
He is jabbering up a storm. He just talks and talks. Of course, we have no idea what he is saying, but we just talk back to him. He laughs all the time and keeps us laughing too. He really has a sense of humor--if you can tell that at 8 months!! He will do some thing and look to see if you are laughing. He will ignore you when you call his name and look at us out of the corner of his eye like "I hear you, but I'm not looking."
He has wild hair. After rubbing his head to fall asleep it is a wild mess. It makes me laugh each time I look at his hair. It is long and hanging over his ears. I think he will need a hair cut before too long!!!
His favorite toy right now is his little basketball goal. He loves to make a slam dunk and make the crowd cheer. He also likes bath time. He LOVES to splash and have Cohen pour water on him. He giggles every time. I am soaked when we get done, because of all the splashing!!!!
He still loves to eat. He is beginning to work on chewing and loves the little puff thingys by Gerber. He LOVES LOVES LOVES his bottle. It might be hard to take that away when the time comes. He WILL NOT take a sippy cup at all. He spits at it when we try to give it to him.
He is the other love of our life.....who know you could love kids this much!!!!

Baby Day #3

Doctor said every thing sounded great. We heard a nice strong heartbeat at 162 BPM which he said was great. He was going to do an ultrasound just for fun, but the machine was in use by lots of mama's getting their "real" ultrasound so we have to wait. He said he will do one on March 6th which is our next appointment. It was exciting to hear the baby's heartbeat and made it all seem more "real." We'll keep you posted!
