Brave

We took Cohen and Evan to see the movie Brave the other day. We made a little date out of it. We had lunch at Arby's and headed to the movies afterwards. When we arrived we found out the movie was sold out! WHAT? How weird for a Sunday afternoon. I guess our idea wasn't so original! The boys were devastated! So, we had to pay extra and see the next showing which was 3D. FIFTY DOLLARS later, YES.....5-0, we saw Brave in 3D! The smiles on the boys faces were worth it. I guess? And the movie was really cute!

Nap time fun for the big boys

Cooper took an extra long nap yesterday so we decided to have some artsy-science fun! We dropped colored vinegar into baking soda and watched the colorful explosions! The boys loved it and it kept them busy for an hour! We will definitely be doing this again!

What priceless smiles for cheap fun!

Cohen kept his explosions neatly spaced and watched the colors mix.
Evan liked to make big explosions!

My boys

Getting ready for Date Knight at Truett's!
Making cake pops in our new cake pop maker that Evan just had to have! They were delicious and we had fun!

Evan doing his "homework" like Cohen

He's just a pure delight!

Easter 2012

Dressed up nice for Easter.

Coloring Eggs--I have been telling the boys about it all week to get them excited about it. I have been calling it "paint eggs" whenever I mention it. We are getting ready and my mom was coming over to help so I told Cohen "Go call Nana and tell her we are about to dye." Evan falls to the floor screaming "Help!" and I ask him what wrong. He's crying, "what's wrong, why are we about to die?"

Traditional Easter breakfast: Easter Bunny pancakes!

Egg Hunt.

Evan's in a big boy bed!

This is old news, but I am way behind so I am catching up. We moved Evan to a big boy bed! We got Cohen a new bed and he moved upstairs to his own room. It is still 1/2 playroom, but we are working on getting him settled in to a "cool" room! Here's Evan in his big boy bed!

Just eating dinner.....

We decided to go out and grab some dinner tonight. After a stressful day and an unexpected change in evening plans we couldn't decide what to cook and didn't really have the fixin's for anything we wanted. We thought we would go grab Mexican, our fall back plan most weeks! On the way, all the boys were SCREAMING about this, that or the other....roll the window up, no roll it down, not that much, I'm cold, roll the windows back up, I'm hungry, he's touching me.....you get the point, right?
Anyway, we derailed the crazy train, AKA Mini-van, and decided for something closer and faster--Wendy's. Although not what I was wanting, it was pretty good. Well, the food....NOT THE COMPANY!!!!

Here is how it all went down:
1. Upon walking in Evan climbs the rails in the line and hollers "I love this playground."
2. The man behind the counter just stares at us.
3. He finally asks what we want.
4. We take forever to figure it out..."I want cheeseburger, no I want chicken." "I want fries and apples." "You can only have one or the other." "Ok, fries."
5. Place order.
6. "NO I WANT APPLES!"
7. Man calls on speaker to cancel fries and puts apples in bag.
8. Fill up the little white things with ketchup.
9. The "helper" drops two of them.
10. Get more ketchup.
11. While waiting at table for food, Cohen pretends to be Spiderman and climbs up the back of the booth and acts like he is stuck to the wall. YES!!! The seven year old who is supposed to know how to act.
12. He gets the evil eye and gets down.
13. An army man walks in and all three boys give him and official army salute.
14. Food arrives.
15. There are fries instead of apples. Crying begins.
16. Go back to line and exchange apples for fries.
17. Begin to eat.
18. Jeremy and I try to have a conversation since children are busy eating.
19. We hear laughing and Coop has blown bubbles all in his milk and they are spilling out of the milk bottle all down his chin and into his lap.
20. Clean up bubbles.
21. Finish eating and decide we want Frosties.
22. While Jeremy is ordering dessert I gather up the trash. While throwing trash away Evan begins to run up and down the booth yelling, "I love this binch, I love this binch" (keep in mind the n is silent and his "bench" sounds more like a bad word.)
23. Cohen, yes the SEVEN YEAR OLD, climbs OVER the back of the "binch" and gets spoons. Still pretending to be Spiderman, I guess????
24. Jeremy and I are MORTIFIED of our eating experience. We head to the door with our heads hanging....I know the people still in the restaurant gave a standing ovation when we left!

Needless to say, I will be keeping stock in frozen pizzas for the next time our dinner plans get changed!!!!!
